Privacy Policy

Yapaa is a private daily-question service for people aged 16 and older. This launch draft explains the product’s intended data practices and must be approved by counsel before production release.
What we collect
We collect account and authentication details, a private birth date used to determine age eligibility, profile information, mutual friendship data, answers and photos you choose to submit, reactions, reports, device tokens, product activity, and coarse technical information needed to secure and operate the service.
How we use information
- Operate authentication, daily questions, mutual friendships, answer reveal, reactions, streaks, Memories, support, and safety features.
- Send notifications according to your preferences and quiet hours.
- Prevent abuse, investigate reports, diagnose reliability issues, and measure aggregated product performance.
Who sees answers
Your current answer is available to you. An accepted, unblocked friend can see it only after answering the same canonical daily question. Yapaa does not provide administrators with a general private-answer browser. Moderators can access a snapshot only when content is reported.
Retention and deletion
You may delete an answer at any time or request account deletion in the app. Account deletion immediately disables discovery, sessions, notifications, and protected content. The deletion worker is designed to remove covered profile and content data within 30 days. Pseudonymized safety and audit records may be retained for up to 24 months where legally justified; aggregated statistics may remain.
Your choices
You can control notifications, remove friends, block people, report content, delete answers, and request deletion from Profile. Birth-date corrections require an audited support request.
